Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free of charge estimates?
Yes. Our experience in the field allows us to estimate the cost of most jobs, based on the information collected from you regarding the work required.
However, if a visit on site is needed in order to further assess the repairs, a charge of £35.00 + VAT will be applied. An appointment would be arranged at your convenience, during which one of our estimators will go through the list of works with you, investigate the issues and gather all necessary details for us to be able to price the job. MTX will then send you an official quotation for both labour and materials cost within 2 working days, via email or post.
How can I pay?
You are able to make payment by debit/credit card, bank transfer, cash or through Paypal.
How long in advance do I have to book?
Just to be on the safe side, unless it is an emergency, we would recommend getting in touch at least 1-2 days prior to the date you’d like the appointment for.
When will I be billed?
We work 7 days per week and can be on call 365 days of the year by prior arrangement. Our rates apply to Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturdays 10am to 4pm, hours outside these will be charged at a different rate.
Is MTX insured to cover any damages to my property?
Yes, we have public liability insurance cover up to £5 million.
Do you have any NICEIC accredited electricians?
Yes, of course!
What happens if I am not happy with the work?
MTX will send the Handyman/Tradesman back to your premises to put right or to finish what it is they started. If it is a failure of the tradesman, there will be no extra charge for rectifying the problem.
Do you offer Business Accounts?
We can set up a 7 day Business account. In order for us to provide this account, you will be required to fill out an account opening form and agree to credit checking. We cannot provide any service without either a Credit Card or a Business Account. Business accounts can take 5 business working days to set up so do please apply early if you require an account.
Do I have to supply materials myself?
Only if you wish. MTX tradesmen are always prepared with basic tools and materials to ensure that the jobs run smoothly. If any other items are required (e.g light bulbs, taps, switches, etc. ), the contractors would source them from local shops.
In terms of materials that cannot be easily found, such as brand appliances parts, glass units or made to measure items, MTX will search for them, place the order for you and arrange for delivery, as well as a further visit for fitting. The office will confirm all details with you prior to any purchases and will keep you posted throughout the process.
How can I book?
We understand that your time is precious and we aim to make your experience with us as efficient as possible, therefore we have incorporated a user-friendly online booking tool on our website, which includes all the information needed to help you start your project. Alternatively, you can call us directly on 020 7118 1161 or email us at email@example.com and one of our lovely office staff will further advise you on cost and availability.
Can I cancel a booking at any time?
You may cancel a call out with at least 24 hours notice. After this time our half hour minimum charge will apply. You may not cancel a fixed contract except under the terms agreed for that contract.
What if MTX cannot fix my repair?
MTX operate a 'no Fix, no Fee' contract, If we cannot make a repair or if we cannot find a specialist to carry out your repair, we will not invoice, no fix no fee its that easy.
I am a landlord. Do you have any special packages for me?
Glad you asked! We customise our services and packages to meet our clients’ needs so feel free to give us a call to see how we can help you with your properties.
Do you have any GasSafe registered engineers?
Yes, of course!
How can I expect my tradesman/men to arrive?
MTX Handymen use a variety of transportation to get to you, most will have fully fitted Scooters or Motorbikes so that they and their high tech tools can get through traffic with a friendly foot print as quickly as they can. For larger jobs, MTX use the Ford Ranger and Ford Transit vans.
Can I book more than one Tradesman?
Yes of course you may, if its more than 3, you might also want us to find a supervisor for you, but yes you can book as many Handymen/Tradesmen as you require.
